Discipleship Focus: Father

• Father: This is the pinnacle of the Covenant Triangle.  God is the Father.  He is the creator.  He is love.  Our relationship with the Father is rooted in His love for us.  We get our identity through Him.

Here is Exodus 15 we get a clean and clear picture of the Father.  He is the one who cares for the Hebrew people.  He is the one who brought them out of bondage.  He is the one who wrapped His people in His arms when they were attacked.  He is the one who provided the way out when they were pursued.  He has done so much for them.

He desires they become His people.  He desires they get their identity from Him.

And then when they continue to complain in spite of His continued providence, He turns bitter water into sweet water.  And He calls Himself their healer.  That’s what the Father does.  Even when we don’t appreciate Him, He’s still the Father.
