Discipleship Focus: Provision
- Provision: God gives us what we truly need. God knows our needs better than we can know them. We learn to trust God to provide for us.
This is a great chapter with which we can speak about
provision. Today we get to look at
Caleb. Here is a man who was a part of
the initial scouting of the Promised Land, yet he was outvoted 10-2 about going
into the Promised Land. He wandered for
40 years while God meted out punishment upon the unfaithful Hebrews.
Caleb knew that God would provide for him. Yet, Caleb’s provision didn’t come
immediately. Caleb had to wait 40 years
for his faith to be rewarded.
Sometimes patience is required.
God will deliver us into the Promised Land, but it’s not always
today. It’s also not always tomorrow,
either. Sometimes God’s provision is 40
years in coming.
But Caleb waited. Caleb was
faithful. Caleb was willing to stand by
God in the wilderness and walk among the unfaithful in order to get to God’s
provision. How patient are you to get
the provision God has for you?
